Update: Unity of New Hope, January 22nd

                       NOTE FROM ELLEN
During the Presidential campaign we heard the words "hope" and "change" used over and over by the candidates.  Although these words were used specifically for desired changes in our nation, we can use these words for own lives.
Have you given up hope in some area of your life?  Maybe you have tried and tried to lose weight, have a loving relationship, become financially prosperous, find a job, be cured of a physical challenge, etc. and nothing seems to work.
To lose hope is to actually claim, feel and think that the universe/God/Spirit cannot help us in dealing with these situations.  All the effort we expend to have things work out could manifest much easier and quicker by connecting with God and "asking" in prayer for the help we need.  In the New Testament, Jesus gave thanks and prayed before performing miracles.
If there is an area in your life that is troubling, connect to God and ask God for the help you need.  Be open and receptive to answers.  Be willing to follow the guidance you receive.  When you pray, you not only receive help but you connect with the energy of love, which is so renewing and restoring.  This energy will sustain you through crisis and give you the strength, wisdom and insight to move through all the changes in your life.
Start your Sunday off at the coffee cafe at 10:00, attend the service and then enjoy the fellowship and food at the spaghetti dinner.

       See you soon!

        Ellen Davis

Send Sue to Chaplain Training

Sue Greenwood is going to Charlotte, North Carolina on March 26-28th for Prayer Chaplain Training.  With Ev Harman-Ahmad in Africa we need a person here who can train new prayer chaplains.  The cost for the actual training is $380 plus expenses to get there and back.  She will try to make arrangements to find someone at the church to stay with or stay in a hotel.  She will provide her own meals and incidentals. We will be collecting money through special events plus there will be a donation box in Fellowship Hall.  All donations will be welcome no matter how large.  Thanks Sue, for your desire in receiving this training and working with our church in this way.

VISIONING CLASS
(each Wednesday 7:30 PM)
Ellen Davis and Lane Pierce Facilitators

The class is currently working on putting=2 0their goals in writing to correlate with the images in their books.
Visioning is all about dreaming, fantasizing, clarifying and energizing your life.  You decide what it is you want in your life and then begin to envision those things. By collecting and organizing images of items or important words you can surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to have, where you want to live, or where you want to vacation, your life changes to match those images and those desires.  Between Ellen's commitment to the system of Visioning and Lane's commitment to goal setting there are many lessons to be learned i n any one night of Visioning class.
This class is supported by love offerings.
A Vision Book is really an inventory of your desires - come stock your shelves.
