Unity Church of New Hope
Weekly Update Thursday, February 12, 2009

A NOTE FROM ELLEN

Valentine's Day is almost here!!!  Reactions about this day vary from person to person depending on our past experiences with this day and what is happening in our lives now.
This time of year always brings back memories for me from 10 years ago in 1999.   My youngest daughter, Susan, was pregnant and was ordered to strict bed rest by her doctor.  I came to Springfield, Missouri for 3 weeks to take care of both her and my very active 5-year-old grandson, Marshall and my step grandson, Chris.
We all wondered when the new baby would arrive and were anxiously awaiting her arrival.  I also wondered what the baby would look like as Dave the father is blond and Susan has dark hair.
The biggest surprise was the actual date of birth---Valentine's Day on February 14th, 1999.  I remember going up to the hospital and seeing Rebecca for the first time.  Marshall jumped up and down saying "She is like us" meaning there was very dark hair.
Rebecca is all girl who loves hearts, flowers and especially pets.  She had a choice between a salt water aquarium or a birthday party this year and there was no problem---she immediately chose the aquarium.
No matter what your circumstance in life, Valentine's Day can be a celebration of love for yourself, friends and loved ones in your life.
Happy Valentine's Day to each one of you!!!!

         Love,

         Ellen Davis

 TALK TITLE: Absolute Living

Plenty of us can recite spiritual principles, and we believe our lives can be transformed. But what are we actually supposed to DO? Rev. Ellen Debenport suggests ways to make ordinary, daily decision based in principle and to live from our highest consciousness. That's how we create the lives we want, and it's how we'll create the kingdom of heaven on earth.

Visioning Class – Wednesday at 7:30p
Rev. Ellen Davis and Lane Pierce, Facilitators

The class is currently working on putting their goals in writing to correlate with the images in their books.

Visioning is all about dreaming, fantasizing, clarifying and energizing your life.  You decide what it is you want in your life and then begin to envision those things.  By collecting and organizing images of items or important words you can surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to have, where you want to live, or where you want to vacation, your life changes to match those images and those desires.  Between Ellen's commitment to the system of Visioning and Lane's commitment to goal setting there are many lessons to be learned in any one night of Visioning class.
This class is supported by love offerings.

A Vision Book is really an inventory of your desires - come stock your shelves.
