Update: Unity Church of New Hope, October 9th

NOTE FROM ELLEN

Last week my sister who works in Waco took off work to get her car inspected, buy new tires, etc.   At 6:00 PM she called me to let me know that she never made it to inspection because she got broadsided by a truck that was racing another vehicle.   She found herself looking up at a paramedic on the pavement.  She does not have any memory of the crash or the side airbags which went off.   Her car was totaled but she is miraculously doing well.

We have all had days which started "normal" until something happens totally unexpected and out of the blue.  Someone we know may die or we may lose our job.  We may be involved in a car accident or receive a dire prognosis at the doctor's office.   These are the times when we realize that life is always in change.  We are here for a little while and we never know for how long.  It is so important not to put off what we want to experience and do with our lives.

On the flip side, life is also full of good surprises too.  My sister just sent me an email that said:

I got a beautiful flower arrangement delivered to me at the office this afternoon.  But, it is a secret about who sent them.  The card says:  "Hope you are feeling better soon -- from a not-so-old friend."

She is guessing the flowers are from a coworker and is another unexpected happening in a positive vein.

On another note altogether I want to add a PS to the weekly email story that I sent out last week about the beautiful rabbit that I found in my backyard as my unexpected happening.   My next door neighbor came over to reclaim the bunny.  I found out that this bunny is named Football because some children were throwing the bunny back and forth during a Superbowl Sunday and the bunny broke its hip.  She rescued the bunny at that point and has been caring for it since.  I learned from her that rabbits have the intelligence of a 3 year old.

This world is a fascinating place full of interesting people.  When we are in touch and in tune with the presence of God then we can "enjoy the journey" through all kinds of unexpected happenings both good and bad.

    See you soon!!!!

     Ellen Davis, Minister

VISIONING CLASS
(each Wednesday 7:30 PM)
Ellen Davis and Lane Pierce Facilitators
The Wednesday night visioning class has decided to begin planning for the second half of 2008.  The class is currently working on putting their goals in writing to correlate with the images in their books.
Visioning is all about dreaming, fantasizing, clarifying and=2 0energizing your life.  You decide what it is you want in your life and then begin to envision those things. By collecting and organizing images of items or important words you can surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to have, where you want to live, or where you want to vacation, your life changes to match those images and those desires.  Between Ellen's commitment to the system of Visioning and Lane's commitment to goal setting there are many lessons to be learned in any one night of Visioning class.
This class is supported by love offerings.
A Vision Book is really an inventory of your desires - come stock your shelv es.
